I will not eat green eggs with a fox, or on a box, or… wait, it has marijuana in it? I’d eat green eggs anywhere, with anyone, dear Sam-I-Am. Cannabis: it's what's for breakfast.
Regardless of the type of green eggs Dr.Seuss referred to in his unforgettable story “Green Eggs and Ham,” the notion of colored eggs––and colored food in general––has inspired cooking and baking for generations. From purple ketchup to tie-dyed cupcakes, colors make food fun! What makes food more fun, enjoyable, and euphoric, however, is the very green ingredient of cannabis. Could Dr. Seuss possibly be referring to Green Marijuana Eggs in his story? Because we could eat those any day.
Marijuana and eggs have long gone together, way before the marriage of peanut butter and jelly, cheese and crackers, and pizza and beer. In fact, it has been said that the famous conqueror Julius Caesar asked for his eggs “extra green” in the morning to enhance additional creativity and innovation for his battles. You can research the validity or invalidity of that statement at any moment, dear recipe follower.
Whatever your reason is for creating Marijuana Eggs, this exclusive Baked: Cooking with Mary Jean recipe of Green Eggs and Taoist is sure to lighten your day, improve your mood and pain, and get you started on the trail to success. Do you think "Taoist" is a spelling error? Think again. Well, it started off as a spelling error, but I liked it so much that I kept it. Since Taoism is the way, that must mean that our Taoist Weed is the way; the way we're going to make this recipe! Luckily for you, eggs and toast are two of the easiest foods to make. You’ll be able to eat Sam-I-Am’s new and improved green breakfast in a matter of minutes!
Cannabis Conversion in Fat
The first step in making your Green Marijuana Eggs and Taoist is to take about two tablespoons of butter and put it in a pan over the stove. Make sure the pan is on low because you’re going to sauté it with the (drum roll please) cannabis shake.
There are many different ways to convert cannabis; all including a handy-dandy process called decarboxylation. For a full lesson on decarboxylation, head over to our tutorial. This process is paramount in knocking the carbon atom off of the THCA, allowing it to be a very active THC. If this process is not completed, or executed poorly, the cannabinoids will not be active and you will not feel or experience any of the psychoactive desirable effects.
One of the most effective, easy, and quick ways to convert cannabis is through fats like butter, oil, meat, and dairy. Through time and heat, the cannabis is converted through the fat of the meal in question––which is, in this case, butter and eggs.
In order to complete the cannabis conversion for this recipe, grind up a small handful of marijuana shake, and spread it throughout the butter on the pan. Let it sauté on low for just a short period. Important: Make sure to cook low and slow in order to get high and fly.
Pink Kush by White Palm
Why not add a little pink to your green eggs with Pink Kush by White Palm. An indica-dominant hybrid, Pink Kush has traces of sweet vanilla which adds a welcomed sweetness to the salty eggs. Small doses eliminate pain, insomnia, and appetite loss. Relaxation runs in Pink Kush’s indica genes, promoting rest and stress relief without total sedation, allowing this to be the perfect pair to a well-deserved breakfast.
I can’t emphasize this enough: not all cannabis is created equal. The best cannabis for cooking is clean cannabis. Phant Extracts is the clean, natural choice to include with your food. Some growers put pesticides and herbicides in their crop, and some don’t even flush their crops properly. Please, know your source! Choose clean cannabis.
If you want your marijuana butter to be even more potent, sauté it a just a few moments longer. You can also add a pinch more of marijuana if you’re looking for a higher high, but I recommend only adding the initial amount. It is only breakfast after all!
Time for Toastin’
All you’ll need for this recipe is:
- 3 Eggs (White or Brown)
- Butter, unsalted or salted
- 2 Pieces of Bread: white, brown, rye
- Cannabis shake
While that mixture is sautéing (see above for Cannabis Conversion in Fat), crack a couple eggs and put them in a mixing bowl. Whisk those eggs up, and insert two pieces of toast (or however many you want) into the toaster.
Important: You can either create marijuana-infused butter to use separately on toast (or any other recipe using butter), or you can mix the eggs in and create the cannabis eggs. Or, why not create both?
If you wish to combine the eggs with the butter in the pan, dump your eggs into the marijuana-butter. You want to keep the eggs moving in the pan. Be careful not to overcook them. Cook until soft or until you've reached your desired texture for the eggs.
The most difficult part of this recipe is this: taking the toast out of the toaster. And then putting it onto a plate. Geeze that was difficult!
If you made a separate batch of marijuana-butter, spread the butter on the toast like you normally would. If you inserted the eggs into the butter, you are left to enjoy your delicious green eggs and taoist!
