10 Best Shows to Watch While High

You know you need to binge-watch something after that bowl. These are my picks for the best shows to watch while high.

There's something absolutely magical about having your first binge watching session when you first smoke a blunt. It brings a whole new layer to your favorite television show, and can also turn into an amazing bonding session for you and your friends.

Of course, some shows are a bit better to watch while you're baked than others. In fact, some shows actually have become cult favorites because they are so fun to watch while stoned.

Over the years, I've become a connoisseur when it comes to good shows to watch while high on a variety of substances. Speaking as someone who loves to watch TV after hitting a joint, these are the best shows to watch when you're stoned off your behind.

Oh, come on. You know this had to be on here, right? Rick and Morty, which is one of the top ranked comedies on TV,has become one of the best shows to watch outright, so why not high on pot, acid, or really, any other substance you could imagine?

Nihilistic jokes, bright colors, a smooth animation style, and all-around fun is why you're going to love this show. But, aw geez, Rick, don't you think this is a bit obvious?

Code Monkeys is about as nerdy as it gets, but you don't need to be a gamer or a geek to love the humor in it. A pinch of stoner culture, a little bit of off-color humor, and more gaming references than you can throw a stick at are what you should expect with this one.

Oh, and just in case you weren't sure how stoner-friendly this show was, you might want to check out the episode, "The Story of 4/20." It's a Goonies spoof that has a marijuana theme.

There are very few television shows that have as deep a tie to stoner culture as Family Guy. Aside from all the cannabis advocacy that gets added in episodes from time to time, the reason why Family Guy is so irrevocably tied to stoner culture is because it was the go-to show for potheads in the 2000s.

The non-sequitur humor, classic Family Guy musical numbers, and the overall stoner-friendly plot lines are what make this perennially stoner-friendly.

Ugly Americans was one of the most underrated TV shows of its time, and you know what? It remains one of the best shows to watch while high as a kite.

This show is intelligent, stylish, and at the same time, perfectly stoner-esque when it comes to humor. Callie is an awesome character that works perfectly with her boyfriend's "straight man" behavior, and when you light up, it's all the funnier.

Workaholics is one of Comedy Central's most popular stoner shows, and it's really not surprising that this is the case. Blake, Adam, and Anders are a trio of lovable slackers who work at a telemarketing firm. They have no real goals in life, but they are great at making things work.

The more you watch it, the more you get hooked.

Canada's favorite stoner show has made a huge splash in the United States—even if our network execs haven't been too interested in bringing it to a major cable station in America.

Ricky, Bubbles, and Julian are a trio of drug dealers who just so happen to live in a trailer park. They're constantly busted by the alcoholic (and barely functioning) park supervisor Jim Leahy. No matter what they're doing, they're hilarious and stonerrific.

Bright and colorful enough to be a perfect acid trip, but definitely not advisable to watch while on the stuff, Superjail is a cult classic cartoon series that will have every type of stoner squealing with delight.

Superjail follows the bizarre, acid-trippy stories of a Willy Wonka-esque Warden, a transgirl prison guard named Alice, and a very anxious assistant named Jarrett. There's blood, there's guts, and there's a lot of hilarity to be seen.

Assuming you're not on acid, this is one of the best shows to watch while high.

While a lot of my top picks for these shows are cartoons, Cosmos definitely is a bit different. This is an "intellectual high" type of show that's hosted by none other than Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Tyson talks about space, the many different trippy aspects of astrophysics, and adds a nice amount of humor in too. If you need a more cerebral form of entertainment while you're trippin, Cosmos will definitely offer you some good times.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has all the necessary elements for a perfect stoner show. It has a bar. It has a chick by the name of Sweet Dee, who somehow managed to ruin a lot of peoples' lives. It has Danny DeVito, because of course it does.

Even if you have never seen an episode, chances are you'll already recognize any reference to, "The Night Man Cometh," you'll hear. It's an iconic show that's now as much a part of Philly culture as cheesesteaks.

It's one of the best shows to watch on TV while high, if only because of DeVito's friggin' madcap humor.

Finally, as far as cartoons go, Adventure Time remains one of the best shows to watch while high on weed... or acid, or shrooms. The imagery alone makes it worth a watch, but when you add the dark, but psychedelic, elements of the Land of Ooo's past to the mix, it's a must-see for any stoners regardless of age.
