How Smoking Marijuana Helps Me with My Day to Day Life

And Why, After Being Legalized, It's Still Under Attack

Marijuana. Weed. Cannabis. Pot. Many words are used to describe this plant. Many people, myself included, need it for managing pain, having appetite, anxiety, depression, or many different ailments. Studies have even shown it to help cancer patients during chemotherapy with their nausea and vomiting and have shown to slow down or kill the spread of cancer. {1}

For me, personally, I suffer from an extensive list of problems. The most problematic one being gastroparesis which causes me to not digest my food timely or correctly. This causes me extreme pain, vomiting (which also has attributed to the recent swift breakdown of my teeth), and there are times that I can go up to a week without eating. I also suffer from depression and anxiety, which affect me every day.

I suffer from PCOS. Ladies, you all know how bad just having periods are, but if you are 1 in 10 {2} women affected by this, you can experience a range of symptoms including acne, irregular cycles, skin tags, weight gain and difficulty losing it, hormone imbalance etc.

For these problems, I have been prescribed so many medications. Most of which I either can't process due to the stomach issue or I end up having one of the bad side effects that they reassure me no one has.

After spending many years in pain, I realized that the pills weren't working. I was spending all my money for them to keep changing them to something that didn't work. I was broke and in pain, losing weight from not eating and vomiting all the time, missing out on a lot of things going on in my life.

I have always had a pro outlook on weed. I have never seen weed to be a bad thing. I understand there are some people that are going to be like "But there are families that have been broken up because of this drug!!" or "Weed is a gateway drug!" While there have been families broken up, it's either due to unnecessary legal actions or because someone has lied to someone about not using it. Although the statement is still on the debate about it being a gateway drug, most studies suggest that while users of harder drugs may be found to have used marijuana in the past, most marijuana smokers don't go onto harder drugs. {3}

So after basically being a guinea pig in the pharmaceutical sense, I decided enough was enough and grabbed the pipe for medicinal purposes.

I had smoked recreationally before that, using maybe a few times a week, but hadn't really thought about being able to smoke every day.

I talked to a friend who helped me get it so I could use it medicinally and it made such a difference. I was able to be myself, hang out with friends and family, enjoy life again.

So if it can do that, why is it still being fought about??

One of the biggest reasons, the war on drugs started to control the masses.

Second, Big Pharma would lose so much money because it's easier to treat symptoms than to cure the sickness.

I personally believe that everyone has the right to choose the medicine that helps them.
